MIL-PRF-87252C (1) Notice 2 (SenSyn 87252)

Coolant For Aircraft Avionic Systems.

SenSyn 87252 (MIL-PRF-87252) is a synthetic based fluid composed of a highly branched, compact, and very stable synthetic hydrocarbon known as polyalphaolefin (PAO). Modern technology additives provide SenSyn 87252 with long-term storage stability. SenSyn 87252 also offers exceptional performance over a wide temperature range. SenSyn 87252 does not react with water, producting cleaner operating systems and allowing for longer component life.

SenSyn 87252 is intended for use as a dielectric cooling fluid for aircraft avionics systems, for high-powered transmitter equipment and power supplies, and also for many ordnance systems. SenSyn 87252 may also be considered for use in electronics cooling systems such as circulating computer coolant systems. Benefits to SenSyn 87252 include lower initial cost, longer fluid life, lower weight, and lower toxicity as compared to other types and brands of avionic coolants. SenSyn 87252 does not react with water, so no specialized reclamation equipment is required and there may also be less of an environmental impact potential in the event of a spill.
